Some cases need careful planning and a multi disciplinary approach. This patient first consulted us as he had lost some implants that was placed not too long ago. It was clear that he had a severe grinding habit with extreme loss of vertical height, making his mouth a too unstable environment for the healthy integration of implants. We knew that we had to plan well to restore him. Dr Lochner in Somerset West successfully placed new implants and we then proceeded in creating more space for these to be stable long term by opening his bite and restoring his teeth using a combination of Zirconium crowns and composite bonding. He is also now wearing the correct biteplate to avoid another costly failure in future. A fantastic result for a delighted patient.
